IGT, the Nevada-based manufacturer of casino gaming machinery,
has recently chosen its new Vice President of Human Resources
to be Tami Corbin. Ms. Corbin will now oversee all of
IGT's employee programs and benefits for its 4,800 strong
worldwide workforce.
Corbin's last place of employment is not exactly the most
expected of what one might imagine. She served as ABC's
Vice President of Human Resources and Media Networks.
ABC Television Network is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney
Company, where she also held several positions during the
years of 1996 to 2004. Some of her past resume meat
includes being Director of Human Resources, and Disney Cable
Networks, Director of Employee Relations and Training, and
also Director of Disney Consumer Products.
Corbin's experience is not
strictly limited to the Mouse however. She also served
in the Human Resources field for such companies as Dodger
Stadium, Marriott International, and the Palace Station Hotel
and Casino in Las Vegas. Her respect in the field of
Human Resources is well earned and understood, given the
comprehensive educational background she boasts. She
first earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Clemson
University in South Carolina, then went on to receive a Master
of Science in Experimental Psychology from Southern Methodist
University in Dallas, Texas. Next, Corbin procured a
Certificate from the Executive masters of Business Program
from Simmons College in Boston, and a prestigious placement in
the Society of Human Resource Management.
IGT hopes that Corbin will
bring her broad range of experience to help the company employ
individuals who are inspired to work in the casino gambling
industry, as well as maximize the company's full potential in
regards to new machine innovations.
