Although Trump Casinos may have given some people cause to
believe that Atlantic City is nor faring so well, in reality,
the East Coast gambling Mecca is doing quite well for itself.
Such as the case is in Las Vegas currently, several casinos
and resorts are making themselves over with brand new
accommodations. Well, contrary to the bankruptcy of
Trump Casinos last year, the twelve casinos in Atlantic City
have brought in the largest amount of gambling revenue ever
since gambling was first legalized in New Jersey in 1977.
The worry now is that nearby New
York and Pennsylvania will begin taking away from this
increased profit now that plans are in place to open casinos
in both of these states. Voicing concerns about this
development was the Chief Executive of Trump Entertainment
Resorts, James Perry, who held a conference call with other
executives regarding the situation in New York and
Pennsylvania. Currently, there are video lottery machine
terminals in operation as well as plans to put in further
casino games throughout both states. Whether this
strongly impacts Atlantic City's overall revenue will show in
time, although it is very unlikely.
Trump Casinos should have
every reason to be on their guard, following their bankruptcy
declaration last year. However, with the company's
acquisition of a large loan, as well as some modifications to
their casino management policies, the company has been in the
green ever since. |
